The construction of the academic discipline of International Chinese Language Education forms a crucial foundation for accelerating the globalization of the Chinese language. In turn, the globalization of the Chinese language is an important means and basis for shaping China’s image abroad as a major country. Both areas are currently at a critical, transitional, and contested stage of development. They both face significant pressure in terms of theoretical frameworks, curriculum design, developmental environment, and talent cultivation. There is an urgent need for high-level promotion, innovative thinking, domestic and international collaboration, unified standards, and differentiated development strategies. While working towards the completion of the academic system for International Chinese Language Education, it is equally vital to achieve the sustainable globalization of the Chinese language, thereby contributing Chinese wisdom to the harmonious exchange of world cultures, mutual coexistence, and shared prosperity.
